Yes I think it is extremely important for children to learn not only about their culture but others also.  My brother didn't like to read when he was younger.  I remember I used to read to him. When he reached the third grade that changed and he actually enjoyed reading.  :-)</description>

		<description>What a neat thing you are doing...teaching Aiyana about her heritage!  So many times people don't do that...I think it's wonderful that she is reading.  I love to read and think it just opens up the world.  I have two strong readers and one who loathes to read...*sigh*  I feel bad for the one who hates to read...he's missing out on so much, ya know?  I've not given up on him though...</description>
